['glaɪndbɔːn 'festəvl, englisch], seit 1934 von John Christie (* 1882, ✝ 1962) in der Nähe von Lewes (Sussex) veranstaltete jährliche Opernfestspiele; ChristieChristie ließ zu diesem Zweck ein Opernhaus neben seinem Landsitz errichten. Der Dirigent F. Busch und der Regisseur C. Ebert etablierten hier maßstabsetzende Mozart-Interpretationen. Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg wurde das Repertoire erweitert, 1992 das alte Opernhaus abgerissen und ein neues, größeres nach Plänen von Michael und Patty Hopkins gebaut (1 200 Plätze), das 1994 eingeweiht wurde.
